Whenever it comes to post surf munchies, we always want to either grab a quick lunch or something that might take longer to prepare but it will make sure i'll fill up the tank so we can get a nice siesta after.
Here we have a top 10 list, not from best to works just randomly placed, but they will for sure they will satisfy your hunger after a good surf session to get the best post surf food or meal.
You might know them or you might not but they are all extended in Banderas bay, from Puerto Vallarta Down town, all the way to Nuevo Nayarit, Bucerías, La Cruz the Huanacaxtle & Punta de Mita area.
10.- Makai Punta de Mita
A ver good ceviche place, tacos and tostadas with a different presentation than the traditional one. Located right in front of La Lancha and about 5 min. from punta de Mita. Makes it a perfect spot to get some fresh catch of the day.
Opens every day from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
9.- Barbacoa el Ferre La Cruz
Barbacoa style tacos. This is a very popular taco that's mostly served in the morning. Similar to birria but different species preparation makes a perfect easy and fast stop to get quick lunch. You can order soft or crunchy tacos and a consomé (soup) and dip the taco so you go the mexican way to eat those tacos.
Opens every day from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.
8.- Jorge's Kitchen Bucerías
Really good mexican style desayunos with a local taste and good Café de olla. This ladys are fast, they get your breakfast ready shorter than expected. It is a small place hidden in the beautiful Bucerías main town, one block away from Zona dorada.
Opens Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
7.- La Ola de Vallarta, Nuevo Nayarit
Best local seafood in Nuevo Nayarit, where the cold beer, the fresh fish and the good times converge. Located in the heart of this little local town, close to Puerto Vallarta it's the best place to hang out, have a cold one and get a catch of the day right at your plate. It is a must if your are in Nuevo Nayarit.

6.- El Tacón de Marlin
Local seafood burritos, very known for its traditional and authentic flavor. They have been around for more than 25 years, which makes them a traditional spot for locals. They have another location right next to the airport going down the bridge.

5.- Sonoritas Tacos Olas altas
Great option for Pastor style tacos if you are in zona romántica, olas altas or Puerto Vallarta Downtown. Quesadillas, volcanes, tacos and a variety of fresh waters like rice and hibiscus, cold bear and mojitos.
Opens Everyday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
4.- Marisma Fish taco Zona Romantica
Baja style tacos in Puerto Vallarta, breaded or garlic fish and shrimp tacos in Zona romántica. They have been there for more then 20 years, so that tells you about their unique style and flavor. Great option for a quick grab and go.
Opens Everyday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
3.- La pergola Mia, Marina Vallarta
Traditional mexican style food, this is what we called "comida corrida" where they have the stews hot and ready to serve. Every day they have different stews but you can also ask for their menu where they serve tacos, fajitas and way more options. Located in the Marina on Puerto Vallarta, about 5 min. from the airport.
Opens Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:15 pm.
2.- Barra Light Downtown & Marina
2 places, same taste and food quality. Barra light is a great option if you are looking for something super healthy. Located both in Puerto Vallarta, one in the Marina area and the other one in Zona romántica, downtown of Puerto Vallarta

1.- Planeta Vegetariano
One of the best if not the best vegeterian buffet in Puerto Vallarta, don't get us wrong this place is amazing, if you are super hungry and you are looking for something hot and ready this is the place. They have been there since 1995 and their unique style and taste have prevail since the very first time. for only $13 USD you can eat as much as you can with fresh flavor waters and hot or cold tea.
